ACTIVE TEACHER GRANT PROGRAM
GUIDELINES:
LCRTA provides grants ($300) to teachers currently teaching in the public schools of Lake County, Ohio. This grant is intended to be used to support, in part or whole, an innovative educational project that would otherwise not be possible due to lack of school funds. This grant program is open to any academic discipline or grade level. Teachers are encouraged to complete the application attached to these guidelines. Grants of $300 will be awarded on February 1st with the project to be implemented by May 31st of the same year.
PROCEDURES FOR SUBMITTING GRANT APPLICATIONS:
1. A copy of the grant proposal application will be available at each school through the principal and may also be found on the LCRTA website at lakecountyrta.weebly.com. Additional copies may be made as needed. (See bottom of this page to download the application.)
2. Applicants should obtain the application from the building principal. The principal's signature is required to obtain funding.
3.The deadline for the submission of proposals is December 31st. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. All applications should be mailed to:

Confirmations will be emailed when the grant application is received.
4. A committee will evaluate the proposals and determine those to be funded.
5. Grant recipients should keep a record of all expenditures related to this project.
6. Your grant should:
A. Advance the curriculum goals of your school
B. Create new ideas and concepts to strengthen existing programs
C. Provide student learning opportunities not available from general funds or parent groups
D. Benefit as many students as possible
E. Must be used for in-classroom programs. Will not be considered for busses.
7. There may be more than one applicant per building.
The Lake County Retired Teachers Association has a strong interest in the education of the children of Lake County. Recipients of this teacher grant will be asked to attend the June meeting of the LCRTA membership to briefly explain the project and tell how it has impacted the students.
PLEASE LIMIT YOUR PRESENTATION TO 5 MINUTES.
The Grant Committee will provide the luncheon cost.
